Temple, Tanzhe Temple and the White Cloud Taoist
Temple.
Confucius
Temple: The temple was founded in 1302 by the
Yuan dynasty and actually, more than a temple, it
was a gathering place for those who aspired to pass
the imperial exams in order to study and make offerings
to Confucius to be successful with their exams.
Tanzhe
Temple: A Buddhist temple built on a hillside
and consists of various pavilions, prayer halls,
courtyards and a group of pagodas dating from the
Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. At one time, it was
one of the most important temples in the nation.
White
Cloud Taoist Temple: In the 8th century, the
Tian Chang Temple was built in Beijing to house
a statue of Lao Tzu. Although it burned down in
1202, the statue was saved . In 1224, Genghis Khan
