Chinese Acrobatics: The history of acrobatics
in China can be traced back to Neolithic times. It is
believed that acrobatics grew out of the labor and self-defense
skills that the people practiced and demonstrated during
their leisure time. In the long course of development,
the Chinese acrobatic art has formed its own style.
Instruments of labor like tridents, wicker rings and
articles of daily use such as tables, chairs, jars,
plates and bowls were used in their performances.
