Our guide will pick you up
from your hotel and drive to Jinshanling Great Wall.
Hike about 10km to west section of Simatai which
takes 5 hours. Enjoy a significant scene at the
sunrise and sunset. Get down the hill late in the
afternoon and check in the local guest house.
Jinshanling
Great Wall: It is 90 kilometers to the Mountain Resort of Chengde. Jinshangling Great Wall got its name because it was built on the bigger and the smaller Jinshan Mountains. The Jinshanling Great Wall was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming Dynasty, and in 1567 or 1570 rebuilding of the Wall was mainly directed by General Qi Jiguang. Poems and tablet writings can be found on the Jinshanling Great Wall left from the time Qi Jiguang directed building of this section of the Great Wall.

Hike the east part of the
Simatai Great Wall for about 3 hours. Get down the
hill for lunch before back to Beijing. It is a bigger
challenge and only accessible for the energetic
and experienced ones.
Simatai
Great Wall: Sima Tai, located in the north of Miyun county, 120km northeast of Beijing, holds the access to Gubeikou, a strategic pass in the eastern part of the Great Wall. Originally built during the Northern Qi dynasty (550-577) and rebuilt in the Hongwu years of the Ming dynasty by Qi Jiguang, this section of Great Wall is the only part of the Great Wall which keeps the original features of the Ming dynasty Great Wall. |
