Visit the Imperial Palace
(Forbidden City), the Tiananmen Square and the Summer
Palace. Enjoy the Beijing Duck Dinner and the Peking

City: Built between 1406 and 1420, the Forbidden
City was the palace of the emperors of the dynasties
of Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911), a period
extending over 500 years. The Imperial Palace covers
an area of 183 acres. It was burnt down, rebuilt,
and renovated many times, so most of the architectures
date from the 1700's and on wards.
Square: The square is located in the center
of Beijing, it covers an area of 44 hectares, 500
meters wide from east to west, and 880 meters long
from north to south. The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall
sits in the south of the square. The Forbidden City's
outer entrance, the Tiananmen Gate (the Gate of
Heavenly Peace) stands at the north end of the square.
Palace: Covering an area of 2.9 square kilometres,
it is the largest and most well-preserved royal
garden in China. There are more than 3,000 ancient
structures in the Summer Palace, including temples,
pavilions, bridges, halls, towers, corridors, etc.

of the world. It was first built about 2500 years

Tombs: A collection of imperial mausoleums
of 13 Emperors of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with
500 years history. Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli
Emperor (1563-1620), is the only one to have been
excavated. The excavation revealed an intact tomb,
with over 3,000 pieces of cultural relics, including
items of golden crown, silk, textiles, jades,
vases, red lacquer boxes, silver, porcelain and

landscape design which simply and graphically
illustrates a cosmogony of great importance for
the evolution of one of the world's great civilizations,
and had a profound influence on architecture and
planning in the Far East over many centuries.
Lama Temple: The only temple in Beijing to
have its own subway stop, also called Yonghe Lamasery,
or Yonghe Gong, is the most handsome and impressive
Buddhist temple in the city. The Lama Temple was
originally the residence of prince Yongzheng,
who later became Emperor. His mansion was converted
into a temple in 1744 after he ascended the throne.
One of the most prominent features of the temple
is a huge, 23-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha, which
was carved from the trunk of a white sandalwood

Museum. After lunch, drive back to the city center
of Xian and visit Big Goose Pagoda and the Ancient
Warriors: A collection of terracotta sculptures
depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang (259 BC -
210 BC), the first Emperor of China. It is a form
of funerary art buried with the emperor and whose
purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife.
Life size terracotta figures of warriors and horses
arranged in battle formations are the star features
at the museum.
Goose Pagoda: A Buddhist pagoda which was built
in 652 during the Tang Dynasty and originally had
five stories. One of the pagoda's many functions
was to hold sutras and figurines of the Buddha that
were brought to China from India by the Buddhist
translator and traveller Xuanzang.
Xi'an Ancient City
Wall: Initially built during the old Tang dynasty
(618 -907), Xi'an Ancient City Wall is the most
complete city wall that has survived in China, as
well being one of the largest ancient military defensive
systems. The wall now stands 12 meters tall, 12-14
meters wide at the top and 15-18 meters thick at
the bottom. It covers 13.7 kilometers in length
with a deep moat surrounding it.

Visit the Shaanxi Provincial
History Museum, the Great Mosque and the Muslim
Quarters. Take the
high-speed train from Xian to Luoyang which takes
3 hours. Be met and transferred to your hotel in
Provincial History Museum: The museum was built
in 1983 and opened to the public in 1991. It is
a giant Tang Dynasty style architecture, covers
an area of 65,000 square meters. 370,000 exhibits
show the history of over a million years from prehistoric
times (1,150,000 years ago - 21st Century BC) to
about 1840 AD. The museum's collections include
bronzes, terracotta statuary, ceramics, bronze mirrors,
and coins and currency, calligraphy, rubbings, scrolls
and so on.
Quarters: Located to the north of the West Street
in the city center, the quarter is the hub of the
Muslim community in Xian, it is a fascinating area
where you can find exotic food, interesting people
and great souvenir stalls.
After breakfast, tour to the
Longmen Grottoes. After lunch, visit Luoyang Museum
and the White Horse Temple,
Grottoes: Located 12km south of Luoyang,
the Longmen Grottoes, together with the Yungang
Grottoes in Datong and the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang
are reputed as the three greatest stone sculpture
treasure houses in China. Spanning over one thousand
meters on the banks along the Yi River, there are
as many as 100,000 statues within the 2,345 caves,
more than 2800 inscribed tablets, and 43 Buddhist
pagodas. In the year 2000, Longmen Grottoes was
listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Horse Temple: Originally built in 68
AD, it was the first Buddhist Temple in China. Occupying
an area of 40,000 square meters, this well-preserved
temple is only 12 kilometers from Luoyang. What
we see today is a rectangular courtyard complex,
reconstructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

After breakfast, visit the
Shaolin Temple which is the birthplace of Zen and
the cradle of Shaolin Kongfu. After the trip, drive
to Zhengzhou Airport and take flight to Shanghai.
Arrive at Shanghai airport, be met and transferred

Temple: Known as the cradle of Shaolin
Kung Fu and the Zen Buddhism, the monastery is 80
kilometers southeast of Luoyang at the western edge
of Shaoshi, the central peak of Songshan Mountains.
Built in 495 AD, Shaolin Temple is the main temple
of the Shaolin school of Buddhism to this day. In
2010, Shaolin Monastery and its Pagoda Forest were
inscribed as a UNESCO's World Cultural & Natural

Shanghai old town around the City God Temple. Have
a walk along the Bund and Nanjing Road.
Garden: A classical garden located in Anren
Street, near to the Bund. The garden is typical
of the gardening art south of the Yangtze River.
The gardens are purposefully designed to distort
space and distance. The garden was primarily built
in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) by Mr. Pan, a local

near the Yuyuan Market. The original temple, constructed
in Ming Dynasty. The City God Temple is surrounded
by the traditional commercial district. There are
more than one hundred shops in the area and most
buildings of these shops are over 100 years old.
Bund: It is in fact a waterfront area in Shanghai.
A spacious walkway for sightseeing runs atop a 771-metre
long retaining wall on the Bund, paved with colorful
tiles and dotted with flower beds and lighting.
It is a good place for a leisurely stroll and a
view of the Huangpu River. The Bund is very impressive
at night, as the floodlights of the grand buildings
on the Bund are shining together, making the buildings
look like huge crystal palaces.
