Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival of Beijing
Upon your arrival in Beijing, our tour guide will meet you at Beijing airport. After claiming your luggage, you will easily find our guide holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 02 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Visit the Imperial Palace (Forbidden City), the Tiananmen Square and the Summer Palace. Enjoy the Beijing Duck Dinner and the Peking Opera in the evening.

Forbidden City: Built between 1406 and 1420, the Forbidden City was the palace of the emperors of the dynasties of Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911), a period extending over 500 years. The Imperial Palace covers an area of 183 acres. It was burnt down, rebuilt, and renovated many times, so most of the architectures date from the 1700's and on wards.
Tian'anmen Square: The square is located in the center of Beijing, it covers an area of 44 hectares, 500 meters wide from east to west, and 880 meters long from north to south. The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall sits in the south of the square. The Forbidden City's outer entrance, the Tiananmen Gate (the Gate of Heavenly Peace) stands at the north end of the square.
Summer Palace: Covering an area of 2.9 square kilometres, it is the largest and most well-preserved royal garden in China. There are more than 3,000 ancient structures in the Summer Palace, including temples, pavilions, bridges, halls, towers, corridors, etc. In December 1998, UNESCO included it on its World Heritage List.
Day 03 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch)
After breakfast, pay a visit to the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. See the appearance of the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) at a distance.

Great Wall: One of the true architectural wonders of the world. It was first built about 2500 years ago, during the period of the Warring States, and was extended and fortified by subsequent dynasties: Qin, Han and Ming, the Great Wall extends to more than 5,000 kilometers.
Ming Tombs: A collection of imperial mausoleums of 13 Emperors of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with 500 years history. Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli Emperor (1563-1620), is the only one to have been excavated. The excavation revealed an intact tomb, with over 3,000 pieces of cultural relics, including items of golden crown, silk, textiles, jades, vases, red lacquer boxes, silver, porcelain and so on.

Day 04 Beijing - Shanghai (Breakfast + Lunch)
Tour to the Temple of Heaven and Yonghegong Lama Temple. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Be met and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai.

Temple of Heaven: a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design which simply and graphically illustrates a cosmogony of great importance for the evolution of one of the world's great civilizations, and had a profound influence on architecture and planning in the Far East over many centuries.
Yonghegong Lama Temple: The only temple in Beijing to have its own subway stop, also called Yonghe Lamasery, or Yonghe Gong, is the most handsome and impressive Buddhist temple in the city. The Lama Temple was originally the residence of prince Yongzheng, who later became Emperor. His mansion was converted into a temple in 1744 after he ascended the throne. One of the most prominent features of the temple is a huge, 23-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha, which was carved from the trunk of a white sandalwood tree.

Day 05 Shanghai (Breakfast, Lunch)
Tour to YuYuan Garden, explore Shanghai old town around the City God Temple. Have a walk along the Bund and Nanjing Road.

YuYuan Garden: A classical garden located in Anren Street, near to the Bund. The garden is typical of the gardening art south of the Yangtze River. The gardens are purposefully designed to distort space and distance. The garden was primarily built in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) by Mr. Pan, a local government officer.
City God Temple: A Taoist Temple located in Huangpu area near the Yuyuan Market. The original temple, constructed in Ming Dynasty. The City God Temple is surrounded by the traditional commercial district. There are more than one hundred shops in the area and most buildings of these shops are over 100 years old.

The Bund: It is in fact a waterfront area in Shanghai. A spacious walkway for sightseeing runs atop a 771-metre long retaining wall on the Bund, paved with colorful tiles and dotted with flower beds and lighting. It is a good place for a leisurely stroll and a view of the Huangpu River. The Bund is very impressive at night, as the floodlights of the grand buildings on the Bund are shining together, making the buildings look like huge crystal palaces.
Day 06 Departure (Breakfast)
Be transferred to the airport for your departure, end of service.
