It is the biggest and best-preserved cluster of ancient buildings in China; and it covers 720,000 square meters with 800 buildings and 9,000 rooms in total.
Tian'anmen Square: With a length of 880m and a width of 500m, it used to be the forecourt of the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Tiananmen Square holds the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, the National Museum of China, the Great Hall of the People, and the Monument of the National Heroes. To the north of the square is the Forbidden City and to the south the Temple of Heaven.
Summer Palace: The biggest and the best-preserved imperial garden in China. It covers a total area of 290 hectares. UNESCO added this site to the World Heritage List in 1998. There is a very large lake named Kunming Lake in Summer Palace. In summer, visitors can take a cruise by a boat on the lake, and in the winter they can skate across its frozen expanse. The highly attractive 17 Arch Bridge links the lake's eastern shore to South Lake Island. The Summer Palace is an icon of classical Chinese architecture in terms of both garden design and construction.

It was first built in Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577), and was restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Mutianyu's 2.5 kilometer stretch of the Wall allows you to walk for more than 1 hour as you explore 23 original-style watchtowers.
Ming Tombs: Located about 50 kilometers to the north of Beijing, they are mausoleums of thirteen Emperors of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with 500-year history. The Ming Tombs cover a total area of 120K square kilometers and were listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2003.
